Brian O’Flynn is a retired U.S. Air Force Officer and an avid history enthusiast. Brian was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up on the West Coast of Ireland before returning to the United States after college.
During his twenty year military career he deployed five times to combat zones around the world – two on the ground providing Close Air Support to NATO Army units, and three combat deployments in the air as an Air Weapons Officer onboard the E-3 AWACS over global hotspots. As a civilian, Brian continued to work with the Air Force in European and Pacific theatres integrating distributed training systems and developing information operations for non-kinetic operations. His incredible scope of experience broaches Squadron Command, battle management, kinetic and non-kinetic operations from the air and from up-close on the ground, over thirty years of conflict. He has witnessed conflict globally, in both hot and cold wars.
Brian has a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree from the National University of Ireland Galway, and a Master of Arts in Military History from the University of Alabama. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Air Command and Staff College, and the Air Force Squadron Officer School. He lives on Orcas Island, Washington. Brian is married to Terry Hughes-O’Flynn. They have four wonderful children and two lazy, but lovable, dogs.
