Born in San Francisco, Christopher Newman was raised in California’s Santa Clara Valley before the tech revolution turned it from prune and apricot orchards to Silicon. He has received a BA in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of California at Santa Cruz and an MFA in Creative Writing from San Diego State University. In addition to publishing nine bestselling Joe Dante novels and several non-series crime novels, he has most recently authored a new Sean Malloy series of suspense thrillers. He has been nominated for an Edgar Allan Poe Award by the Mystery Writers of America and was once singled-out as the author of a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. Mr. Newman currently resides in California. The Forced Hand, a first installment in his new Sean Malloy series, will be published by Touchpoint Press in 2023.
