Donna Hewlett

Donna Hewlett is a writer and author of the new novel Love is All

Previously, she was an assistant professor and director of an experimental MFA in Creativity program at Bellevue University, Bellevue, Nebraska. She also worked for The Minot Daily News in Minot, North Dakota. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she now calls Omaha, Nebraska home after living in several other states and abroad.

Her academic credentials include: a BS in Psychology with a minor in English (Belmont University); MA in English Language and Literature (Middle Tennessee State University); MFA in Writing (University of Nebraska). During her studies, she indulged in the classics and found the love story of Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning inspirational.

She loves to travel and immerses herself in the history and culture of each place. Her first trip abroad was actually a move to Saudi Arabia that proved to be a great location for traveling to Egypt, Britain, Thailand, and Europe. Later, she tagged along with her husband on his teaching trips to China and Singapore.  Absorbing the diversity of people and places, Donna uses these experiences as touchstones for her fictional works.

Love is All is a fusion of travel, literature, and love. The novel sets up the Robert and Elizabeth Barrett Browning love story as a model for transcendent love. For them, love was everything. With a rich description of places in England, France, Switzerland, and Italy, the atmosphere reflects elements of love illustrated throughout history.

Currently, Donna and her husband, Rod, travel mostly in the United States in their RV with their two rambunctious corgis.
