Kim Davis

Kim Davis lives in Southern California with her husband, Dan, and mini Goldendoodle puppy, Missy. Once her granddaughters started school she launched her blog Cinnamon, Sugar, and a Little Bit of Murder. A combination of culinary cozy mystery book reviews and recipes from the book featured, Kim found her passion.

Inspired by the books she reviewed, she decided to create her own series and has penned four culinary cozy mystery novels in the Cupcake Catering Mystery series. The first book in the series, Sprinkles of Suspicion, won the Readers’ Favorite Book Award gold medal and was a Rone Award Finalist. Her standalone suspense novel, A Game of Deceit, won the New Apple Official Select on Award. Adding to her growing list of books, Kim began writing the cozy Aromatherapy Apothecary Mystery series. The first book, Essentials of Murder, has been published, with two more planned.

With several non-fiction nature articles published in a variety of award-winning children’s
magazines, Kim was inspired to write a middle-grade book to entice her reluctant reading young granddaughter, Emory. Over the course of a summer, Kim and her granddaughter brainstormed settings, characters, and adventures that would appeal to middle-grade children. The resulting book, The Secret of Sweet Treats Kingdom, inspired Kim to create The Board Game Chronicles based on popular childhood board games, with four books planned for the series.

When Kim isn’t spending time with her granddaughters or chasing the puppy around, she can be found either writing on her next book, working on her blog, or in the kitchen creating recipes for her books and baking up treats to share.
